Rabbi Belsky

English Translation:

A group of fine, distinguished talmidei chachomim have formed an organization to help poor people, many with large families, who do not have even bread to eat, and whose cries reach the heavens. The men have risen to help them, to lift the poor from the depths, and the indigent from their neediness. Fortunate is their lot!

They have named their organization Ezras Yisroel - and the organization is true to its name. They help many families. They give the poor joy and support, and allow many to become independent.

Particularly now, in the days before Purim, when they distribute a fortune of money in matanos l'evyonim, it is surely a great mitzva to share in their holy work, and to contribute with great generosity. There is no doubt that the askanim and their supporters will be blessed from Heaven, because our chachomim have promised that the fruits of these deeds are enjoyed both in this world and in the next.

In the merit of this mitzva, may we merit the fulfillment of the words, ki lo y'hiyeh b'cha evyon - and there shall not be amongst you a poor person. May you merit much good, in this world and in the World to Come.
